Following hot on the heels of the X21, which was released last month in Singapore, Vivo has also released its X21i smartphone in China, yesterday. The device has a launch price of CNY 2,698 (approx. $425) and is available for sale from the 19th of May.

Unsurprisingly, the X21i is very similar to the X21 in its design & specifications. The major change is that the X21i is powered by MediaTek’s Helio P60 SoC, while the X21 is run on the Snapdragon 660 SoC. Another change sees the front camera in the X21i being upgraded to 24 Megapixels as against the X21’s 12 Megapixel selfie camera. Both the phones operate on the latest Android Oreo 8.1 OS.

The device features an iPhone X’esque notch at the top of the display, which houses the powerful selfie camera. The screen also occupies majority of space in the front with 90.3% screen to body ratio, rendering the thin bezels at the top & sizes almost invisible. The phone also features a 6.28 inch Super AMOLED display which offers a resolution of 1080 x 2280 pixels with an aspect ratio of 19:9.

The phone measures 154.73 x 74.98 x 6.99 mm and is lightweight at just 159 grams. It also comes under two RAM variants – 4 GB of RAM and 6 GM of RAM which will feature memory of 64 GB and 128 GB respectively.

On the battery side, the phone is backed with a 3,425 mAh battery.
